Vogue

About this style

Vogue, also known as voguing, is a dance style that evolved in the late 1980s in the queer African American communities, namely the ballroom scene, of Harlem, New York City. The style is highly stylized and involves many moves that are similar to the ones models do while posing for high fashion magazines. The dance style got mainstream recognition after the release of the music video to Madonna’s song Vogue in 1990, and since that time, its popularity is only growing.

Today, the style has many substyles that slightly differ in moves and steps, which include the old way, the new way, and Vogue Fem. Obviously, the style is popular and admired all over the world, and hundreds of thousands of people dance Vogue. So if you want to find out more about this dance style as well as try it, go ahead and give our Vogue course a shot.
