Hip-Hop

About this style

Hip-hop is a street dance style that evolved in the United States approximately in the 1970-1980s. Just like breaking, hip-hop was mainly developed by the African American community. The dance style was rapidly developing and quickly became popular all over the world. In fact, in the 1990s and early 2000s, the style was popularized by numerous TV shows, commercials, music videos, and movies.

Today, hip-hop dance is not as popular in the media as it used to be, yet still, it is one of the dominant dance styles all over the world. Hip-hop schools exist on all continents (e.g., the Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory in New York City), and multiple competitions, such as UK B-Boy Championships or Hip-Hop International, for both enthusiasts and professionals, take place every year.

Therefore, if you feel like this dance speaks to you, do not hesitate and give it a shot now. Just head to our hip-hop course and begin your journey.
